Product Reviews - Marc Anthony Strictly Curls Curl Enhancing Styling Foam

Sometime last week, a friend of mine, Sihah, came over for a little hair trial, and I decided to try out my new can of Marc Anthony Strictly Curls Curl Enhancing Styling Foam on her, to see how well it would work on her naturally wavy hair!

Curl Enhancing Styling Foam plumps up your curls giving you high definition, firm hold and maximum shine. Its lightweight formula, enrichd with Silk Amino Acids and Vitamin E, bonds curls strands to create high definition and transform fine, limp curls into full bouncy shiny coils. Curl Enhancing Styling Foam leaves your curls looking polished, sophisticated, and frizz-free.

Here's the before and after photos of Sihah using the Strictly Curls Curl Enhancing Styling Foam!

REVIEW: Basically, I started with wet hair and worked the product through the root to tip, focusing more of the ends of Sihah's hair as that was where most of her curls fell limp. I used a diffuser and a hairdryer and blowdried her hair till 70% dry, and put it up into a quick half-updo! The product indeed delivered what it promised, more defined looking curls, but I have to say that it didn't really make the hair any bouncier or softer. What it did was harden the hair shaft the way a good sculpting lotion would, to lock in the shape of the curls once fully dried. As for frizz, Sihah's hair did become less frizzy than what it was originally, and I also noticed that her hair color looked richer and shinier than before. As for the lightweight properties, the product didn't feel very greasy at all, and once worked into the hair shaft and blowdried, you couldn't feel it on. Sihah's hair still retained its volume and didn't go flat, particularly at the crown area.

I would recommend this product for all the curly-haired girls and boys out there who are looking for a quick and affordable hair fix! Although I'ved tried many other fantastic Curl Defining products from other express salon brands, this product does deliver most of what it promises at a good price. Apart from that, you can also use this prior to your regular curling tong styling regime for all the straight-haired girls out there, to hold up your tonged curls for a longer period of time too.

Marc Anthony Strictly Curls Curl Enhancing Styling Foam retails at a price of $21.90 per can, and it lasts you a really long time seeing how much product there is!

Marc Anthony's Strictly Curls products are available at all retailing Watson's personal care stores islandwide.

Product Reviews - Make Up Forever Aqua Shadow Pencils

Recently, the lovely people from Make-Up Forever sent me a package consisting of their latest product, a highly (and I really mean highly!) waterproof product, the Make Up Forever Aqua Shadow Pencils!

Make Up Forever Aqua Shadow Pencils in (left to right) 8E(teal),24E(rosy pink),6E(navy blue),32E(silvery white), 28E(champagne gold), and 0E(matte black).

I was very excited to receive these Aqua Shadow Pencils, after hearing that they were not only waterproof and smudgeproof, but that they came in a clean and handy jumbo pencil form too! I can use them as an eyeshadow base, on its own as a cream eyeshadow color, and also as an eyeliner for a more subtle, non-eyeshadow look. Definitely multi-purpose!

A little smokey eye make-up photo tutorial using MUFE Aqua Shadow Pencils.

MUFE Aqua Shadows Swatches in (left to right) 8E, 28E, 6E, 32E, 0E and 24E. Intense color payoffs!

My most favourite color from the Aqua Shadow pencil collection has got to be 0E, a rich intense matte black color which is perfect for creating smokey eyes or for lining the waterline black. It won't smudge, won't smear and won't bleed even if you cry! I know this because I tend to tear alot when I wear lower liner on my waterline for my Make-Up Trials, and this product didn't budge a single bit, unlike other "waterproof" pencil liners i've tried which ended up turning grey and fading off after 5 minutes of wear. The next favourtie color has got to be 24E, a sweet rosy pink color! Its perfect for a wearable day look on the eyes to go to work, school, or play. You can even use it on your lips for a long-lasting lip color that won't budge! Another thing that I love about the Aqua Shadows is their very intense color payoffs. In the swatches, I only had to layer on once to get the true color of the shadow, a plus point from me!

I decided to take the Aqua Shadows for a waterproof and smudgeproof test of my own.

MUFE Aqua Shadows after showering 5 mins under constant running water. Waterproof test passed!

MUFE Aqua Shadows after 2 mins of some very vigorous rubbing. Smudgeproof test passed!

After trying very hard to smear and smudge the Aqua Shadows with water and my fingers, I decided to just use make-up remover to get it off the back of my hands. I usually need just one swipe to get even the thickest of eyeshadow colors off my face, and these Aqua Shadows took me two cotton pads worth of swiping to remove! Absolutely long-lasting I must say, its oil-proof as well!

I decided to do a little Make-Up Trial using these Aqua Shadows to take them for a test drive. I chose to use the rich matte black color 0E as an eyeliner, the bright silvery-white color 32E as a highlight, a dark green color 8E as an outer corner color, mixed in with Aqua Creams in #23, #24 for a vibrant dramatic look.

The colors were pretty blendable, being creamy, but I had to work fast as they tend to set pretty quickly. Color payoff was intense, but being waterproof, these shadows tend to dry hard and set into fine lines if you have them, so be sure to layer on a good creamy eyeshadow base first before using these products!

Make Up Forever Aqua Shadow Pencils - definitely a fabulous product worth having in your professional or personal make-up kit! Its handy, convenient, and the waterproof and smudgeproof effect that these lovely pencils give lasts through all weather conditions!

Make Up Forever Aqua Shadow Pencils are available at the Make Up Forever Pro Store located at One Raffles Place, and at all Sephora Beauty Stores located islandwide.

Product Reviews - OPI Gone Gonzo! and TheFaceShop Nail Color

Recently, I received two lovely nail products from two friends of mine, and they both happened to match each other just perfectly! One of them was from the OPI Muppets Collection, Gone Gonzo!, a lovely deep blue glitter nail polish, and TheFaceShop nail color in BL606, a vibrant matte blue.

OPI Gone Gonzo! (left) and TheFaceShop BL606

I love both these products, I layered on TheFaceShop's BL606 on first, took about two coats to get the true color of the product, and finished off with just one coat of OPI's Gone Gonzo!. The end result was a vibrant blue base color with shiny blue and silver glitters on top! Take a look!

Product Reviews - Schwarzkopf Osis Upload Volume Cream

I've always been a fan of big flowing hair, but I always found the idea of teasing my hair out everyday a little discomforting, knowing the pains of having to get the tangles out everytime its time to wash my hair out. Aside to that, I'm not really a fan of having tons of hard hold hairspray stuck on my tresses, since I'm always fiddling and touching my hair through the day, I'll probably mess it up really bad if I did that!

Recently, I was looking through the hair products in my kit, and I found that I had this product called Schwarzkopf Osis Upload Volume Cream. I remember using it before when I had longer hair up to my shoulders, and it worked really well. It gave me that lift I needed, when used with a hairdryer, without the stiffness, which was perfect. I decided to give the product a try again, this time, with my shorter hair!

Schwarzkopf OSIS Upload Volume Cream gives instant lightweight volume and medium style control. Upload contains conditioning and natural shine ingredients to create contradictive styles on damp or dry hair. Schwarzkopf Osis Upload Volume Creme Pump is pure volume with a dose of care for multi-functional styling purposes. Style as desired. Get more volume and soft movement by using a big round brush.

Before and After - using Schwarzkopf Osis Upload Volume Cream!

REVIEW: As seen in the before photo, I had straight hair that lied flat, but from time to time I always like lots of volume in my hair to vary it up. Immediately after washing my hair, I applied a coin-sized amount of product into my palms and worked it through my 70% damp hair. I was a little worried at first, as the consistency of the product felt a little thick and greasy, which at first instinct, I thought would weigh my hair down. I continued to blow-dry my hair anyway with a round brush, and, I was blown away at how easy it was to get the volume into my hair. When I was finally done with my blow-dry, I noticed that my hair was alot more shinier and the color of my hair was even more intense than it usually was. I ran my fingers through my hair, it was completely soft and free to move, and surprisingly, the volume in it stayed put, despite me touching my hair for 20 minutes straight! This was an achievement for me, as usually if I did a blow-dry without any product in it, within 5 minutes I'd end up with flat hair again. Indeed, I was extremely esctatic! I went out that evening feeling pleased with my big hair. I highly recommend this product to all who desire that soft touchable volume in their hair, this product will deliver just that!

Schwarzkopf Osis Upload Volume Cream can be found retailing in wholesale beauty stores like Pink Beauty, Venus, or Beauty Language at about $29.90 per bottle.
